We take the protection of your data very seriously, and want you to feel confident about the data which you provide to us personally or by visiting our website. Compliance with Germany’s Federal Data Protection Act [BDSG] is a top priority for us. In this Declaration, we explain which personal data we (Helantec GmbH) collect, as well as the scope, purpose for collecting, and way we use the data, on the basis of the Federal Data Protection Act and the Telemedia Act [TMG].

2. Access data

If you simply visit our website, we only collect and use data sent to us automatically by your Internet browser, e.g.:

  • date and time when you visited our website;
  • information about the browser which requested the web page;
  • the operating system used;
  • the web page you visited prior to visiting our website;
  • the amount of data transferred and the access status (file transferred, file not found etc.);
  • your IP address;
  • the URL address of our web page requested by you.

These data are not associable with a specific person. Furthermore, they will not be assessed for statistical purposes.

3. Personal data

Personal data are information based on which a person can be identified, i.e. data which can be traced back to a specific person. Such data include e.g.: name, e-mail address or telephone number. We only collect, use and forward personal data if this is permitted by law or if the user has given his/her consent that the data may be collected.

4. Collecting, Processing and Using Personal Data

'Collecting' as defined in the Federal Data Protection Act is the acquiring of personal data. ‘Processing’ as defined in the Federal Data Protection Act is the storing, modifying, sending, blocking or deleting of personal data. ‘Using’ as defined in that legislation is any use of personal data insofar as it does not involve processing. Personal data sent to us will only be used for the specific purposes stipulated by you. We will not forward personal data to third parties without your explicit permission. Personal data will only be forwarded if this is permitted by law or if we are obligated to do so pursuant to a court decision. Our employees and service providers who work for us are obligated to maintain confidentiality and comply with the Federal Data Protection Act.

As a general rule, we only use the personal data transferred to us by you for the purpose of responding to your queries, handling and processing your orders and purchases, or for allowing you access to special information or offers. We collect, store and process your data to allow us to fully process your order/purchase, including any later guarantees, for services provided by us, and technical administration. We will delete your personal data insofar as statutory storage obligations do not prevent this and you have asserted a claim for the data to be deleted, if the data are no longer required to fulfil the purpose for which they were stored, or if storing the data is not permitted on other legal grounds.

5. Newsletter

For sending our newsletter, we use a double opt-in procedure, i.e. we don’t send you the newsletter by email until you explicitly notify us that we should activate sending of the newsletter. We then send you a notification email containing a link which you click if you want to receive the newsletter. If at a later date you no longer want to receive the newsletter, you may cancel at any time without incurring any costs other than dispatch costs at basic rates. To cancel in this way, simply send a written message, e.g. via email, fax or physical mail) to the relevant contact address shown in Section 1. You may also unsubscribe from the newsletter by clicking on the relevant link under 'Publications' or in the newsletter itself.

At any time you are entitled to revoke your permission for us to use your personal data for marketing purposes; you may revoke your permission altogether or just for specific activities. To do so, please contact us in writing via e-mail, fax or written letter at the address shown in Section 1.

8. Use of Your Data for Marketing Purposes

The personal data which you provide to us when you fill in a contact form on our website will only be used to respond to your query or contact you, and for the related technical/administrative activities. Your data will not be forwarded to third parties. At any time you are entitled to revoke permission you have granted, effective for the future. In such cases, your personal data will be deleted immediately. Your personal data will also be deleted without you having to provide a revocation if we have processed your request or if you revoke permission for storage granted by you. This also happens if storage of the data is not permitted on other legal grounds.

9. Credit Checks

If we make an advance payment, e.g. in the case of purchase on account, in order to protect our rightful interests we may obtain a credit check based on mathematical/statistical methods from Creditreform Heidelberg Dangmann & Polyak KG, Kurfürstenanlage 34, D-69115 Heidelberg. To do so, we send the personal data required for the credit check to Creditreform Heidelberg Dangmann & Polyak KG, Kurfürstenanlage 34, D-69115 Heidelberg and use the information regarding the statistical probability of default to reach a balanced decision concerning the grounds, implementation or termination of the contractual agreement.

The credit check may contain probability values (score values) calculated based on scientifically acknowledged mathematical/statistical methods, and inter alia address data may be used for those calculations. Your legitimate concerns will be taken into consideration in accordance with the law.

10. Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc. (hereinafter: Google). Google Analytics uses cookies (text files stored on the user’s computer so that it can analyze how the website is being used by you. As a general rule, the information generated by cookies about how the user is using the website is sent to a Google server in the US and stored there. If IP anonymization is enabled on this website, within the EU member states or European Economic Area (EEA) Agreement signatory states Google abbreviates the user’s IP address first. Only in exceptional cases will be the full IP address be sent to a Google server in the US and abbreviated there. In other words, we do everything possible to ensure your data cannot be misused by third parties. 12. Right to Revoke, Amend, Correct or Update

You are entitled to request to be supplied gratis with information about the personal data regarding you that are stored. Furthermore, you are entitled to have incorrect data corrected and to have your personal data blocked or deleted, unless statutory storage obligations apply.
